TrolMaster WCS-1 is the sensor for the AQUA-X irrigation controller that measures the amount of water in the substrate of our plants.
The WCS-1 Water Content Sensor allows the grower to monitor the % of water within the growing medium.
The level of humidity / water content is displayed in real time in the WCS module itself, AQUA-X and in the mobile application.
That data is displayed in a graph (through the app) and helps the grower to visualize the drying time and to be able to make adjustments to their irrigation cycles.
Up to 8 moisture sensors can be connected to a single AQUA-X.

How is the TrolMaster humidity sensor connected?
- After connecting the WCS-1 to the NFS-1 controller with the RJ12 cable, please press the address button on the WCS-1, and then the NFS-1 will assign an address to the WCS-1 automatically.
- The number of addresses and the data of water content in the culture medium will be displayed on the screen.
- The main interface of the NFS-1 screen will display the measured water content data.
- If multiple moisture sensors (up to 8 units) are connected to the NFS-1 controller, the NFS-1 display will show the average value of all measurements.
- After downloading the app, you can view the water content data and historical data (graph) on your phone.
- You can also receive a message if the current value of culture media exceeds its highest and lowest alarm setting range.
How is the TrolMaster WCS-1 moisture probe calibrated?
- We recommend calibrating the sensor at two points.
- First plunge the probe vertically into a filled container to completely cover all 3 spikes.
- Hold down the steering button for 5 seconds to calibrate to 100%.
- Then remove the probe and dry it well and press the address button 5 times to calibrate the dry probe to 0%
