Dissolved salts represent the available food for your plants that is in the irrigation water.

When the plants are young, they do not have a very high energy expenditure, so they eat little and an Ec level of 1,5 to start with would be optimal.

As they get bigger and flowering begins, the plants eat more and the level of Ec in the irrigation water can reach 2,5

To raise the Ec we add more fertilizers to the water.

To lower the Ec we add more water to lower the concentration of dissolved salts.
