El water cooler hailea for irrigation water tanks o hydroponic growing systems It acts as a small freezer through which, as the water passes, it cools quickly, achieving an ideal temperature for irrigation.

The water is cooled by water cooler hailea which absorbs excess heat through a refrigerant (heat-absorbing chemical) which is then released into the atmosphere through a heat exchanger.

El water cooler hailea it's easy to use. You can control it with just 3 buttons and the digital display.

To run the water cooler hailea you will need one submersible irrigation pump and some tubing to circulate the water around the cooler.

The Hailea water cooler is responsible for keeping the water fresh so that the presence of oxygen is adequate and thus prevent the appearance of bacteria that are harmful to plants.

High ambient temperatures will increase the temperature of your irrigation water and therefore decrease the amount of dissolved oxygen.

The beneficial bacteria that populate the root zone, called aerobic bacteria, need an oxygen-enriched environment to thrive, while the harmful bacteria that can cause root diseases, such as pythium, are anaerobic bacteria that thrive in low-oxygen conditions.

Which Hailea water cooler do I need?

The characteristics of the Hailea coolers that the manufacturer gives us are designed for tanks in which there is no water circulation, that is, things like fish tanks.

For this reason, we have carried out research to find out which Hailea water cooler is needed for crop irrigation tanks.

In the table below we distinguish water tanks for DWC crops where there is a minimum circulation of water and recirculation, such as RDWC systems, where the water does not stop circulating through the plants.

Products Maximum flow Deposit recirculated Measures: Power Consumer goods
HC-130A 1000 l / h 300 liters 75 liters 338x218x325 mm. 1 / 15 HP 175 W

How is the Hailea water cooler installed?

• Place the cooler outside the closet or grow room as it will generate heat.
• Place the cooler in a well-ventilated place at a minimum distance of 40 cm from the walls on each side.
• Place the water pump to feed the cooler. The rate of water flow through the unit is important.
• Uses the correct size tubing and an in-line filter on the water supply line to remove particles or debris.
• Clean the cooler after every harvest!

Basic use of the cooler in low tanks (NFT / RDWC / RUSH)

  1. Place the Hailea Nutrient Cooler somewhere well ventilated, outside of the grow room if possible.
  2. Locate the chiller inlet pump at the end of your tank that is closest to where you have placed the NFT chiller. In an RDWC or RUSH you can put the pump in the control unit.
  3. Run a piece of tubing from the outlet of the pump to the inlet of the Hailea cooler.
  4. Run a piece of tubing from the chiller outlet to the far end of your tank (NFT), making sure it is submerged. In an RDWC or RUSH system you can simply cool the control unit as the water flow is fast enough to circulate around all the pots quickly.
  5. Install an air circulating fan near the Hailea Water Cooler to prevent heat build-up.

Basic use of the Hailea cooler in tall tanks

  1. Place the Hailea Nutrient Cooler somewhere well ventilated, outside of the grow room if possible.
  2. Place the bomb at the bottom of the tank.
  3. Ideally, place the Hailea cooler on top of the tank. If it is not possible, you can place it on the ground but it will reduce the flow of the pump.
  4. Run a piece of tubing from the outlet of the pump to the inlet of the cooler.
  5. Run a piece of tubing from the cooler outlet to the top of the tank, making sure it is submerged.
  6. Install an air circulator fan near the cooler to prevent heat buildup.

Hailea Cooler Cleaning

It is VERY IMPORTANT to clean the Hailea water cooler after each crop to remove mineral deposits and limescale.

  1. Fill the Hailea cooler with white wine vinegar.
  2. Leave for 24 hours.
  3. Rinse with water and place water in a Deposit to make it recycle through the cooler in order to clarify it inside. With 15 minutes it arrives.

Growlet tip:

Make sure the back of your cooler is not directly facing your plants as any refrigerator gives off heat.

If you use DWC hydroponic systems where the water is in the system for long periods of time, you should set the temperature a few degrees lower than the required system temperature.
