Perlite: Substrate for hydroponic cultivation

2,90  - 29,90  VAT included

Perlite is a very interesting substrate for hydroponic cultivation due to its magnificent relationship between aeration and water retention, which allows a correct development of the roots of the plants.

In addition, perlite is a soil improver that helps the soil drain excess irrigation water better and more air enters it so that the roots of the plants develop better as they find a very spongy, aerated and drained substrate.

Perlite comes from volcanic rock that, after a sudden heating and cooling treatment, leaves the lava with this whitish appearance, ideal for mixing with earth, coconut fiber or another type of substrate that you use.

Perlite is a very common natural inert substrate in hydroponic cultivation.

The mineral origin of Perlite makes it very resistant and durable, so we can reuse it in several harvests.

Perlite has the following characteristics:

  • Chemically inert.
  • Zero content of soluble salts.
  • High porosity with aeration capacity.
  • Consistent structure.
  • High water and nutrient retention capacity.
