Neem oil is surely the most used organic insecticide by growers as it is quite effective if applied regularly.
Its harmful effects are minimal for both plants and humans.
This oil is an excellent ally in any organic garden, preventing and treating the pests of our plants, in the healthiest way.
Depending on its use, it has one or other properties. It is advisable to use it in irrigation water, since it penetrates through the roots and distributes them to all the tissues of the plant, which will later be eaten by the insect.
Although it can also be used sprayed, the degradation due to sunlight or lighting makes it only remain active for 5 days; while in irrigation it can act for almost a month without degrading.
How is Neem oil applied?
- Preventive: Water every 10 days the plants with 2 ml. for every 1 liter of water.
- Insecticide: Spray the plants when the lights go out or when it gets dark with 2 ml. for every 1 liter of water.
Shake before using.
Growlet Tip
Add a drop of dishwashing liquid to the mixture of oil and water, which acts as a surfactant and makes the product stick better to the leaves.
