Bacillus Thuringiensis is an effective organic insecticide against worms and caterpillars that comes in powder form to be diluted with water to be sprayed on the plant to be treated.

Once the toxin is ingested by the insect, it paralyzes its intestine, flooding its vital organs.

The effects of Bacillus Thuringiensis are seen after 2 days.

Bacillus thuringiensis is a Gram positive bacteria that is used as a biological alternative to pesticide.

B. thuringiensis also occurs naturally in the intestines of caterpillars of different types of moths and butterflies.

During sporulation, many Bt strains produce protein crystals, known as δ-endotoxins, that have insecticidal properties. For this reason, Bt has been used as an insecticide.
