BHO purging is a very important step that we must not neglect.
With this kit you will be able to extract the excess gas from your BHO.
What does the BHO purge kit include?
- 6,3 l pot.
- Methacrylate lid with silicone gasket.
- Manometer.
- Valve and stopcocks.
- Silicone mat for the bottom of the pot.
- Connecting pipe between the lid and the vacuum pump.
- 2.5 CFM vacuum pump
What role does the vacuum pump have in purging the BHO?
Thanks to the pump we managed to reduce the pressure inside the pot.
At lower pressure, gases are more volatile at lower temperatures.
So with low temperature (so we don't damage the aromas of the BHO) we get the butane to evaporate.
How is BHO purged?
- Put the freshly extracted BHO on top of a Pyrex pan.
- Place the Pyrex source in a bain-marie at 60º C
- Let the BHO start to bubble and spread it out from time to time.
- When it stops bubbling, scoop it up and place it on top of the silicone mat at the bottom of the pot.
- Try to spread it as much as possible so that it is a thin sheet on top of the mat.
- Cover the pot and connect the pump until the maximum possible vacuum is made.
- Place the pot on top of the heat source at 40º C
- Your BHO starts to bubble. That's a good sign.
- After 10 minutes, let air into the pot to release the vacuum. Reconnect the pump and vacuum again.
- Repeat the operation until the BHO bubbles slowly. This eliminates the remains of the solvent.
- Leave the pot working 24 hours. to extract the rest of the solvents present in the BHO.
- It's ready to taste 😉
