LEC Sun System lighting kits are the latest lighting technology for indoor crops.
LEC indoor grow lights are similar to the typical "high pressure sodium" HPS ones as they also need a ballast to work and are similar in size, but they use a ceramic compound to produce light, which gives them the following advantages over to Sodium HPS equipment:
- Lower consumption: A 315 W LEC device produces the same output as a 600 W device.
- Less heat: They emit half the heat of Sodium equipment.
- More shelf life: The bulbs can reach 2 years of life.
- more resin: Its UV rays increase the resin and terpenes of plants.
The LEC Sun System 315 W team bulb
The bulb included in the lighting kit is the Philips CDM-T Elite Agro 3100K.
Emits UV-B (ultraviolet) light so that plants produce more tricotas (resin) and more terpenes (aroma and flavor)
Su useful life can go up to 2 years of operation although we recommend changing the LEC bulb every 6 crops or after 8000 hours of use, which is when it drops to 90% of lumens (which are still very good).
Its PPF (Photosynthetic Photon Flux) per second is 1.95 and its lumens are 33.075 lm.
The ballast of the LEC Sun System 315 W equipment
It is an electronic ballast of the house Philips and carries the latest technology in safety and energy efficiency.
The intellivolt chip is responsible for keeping the ballast on even if we have voltage peaks or small fluctuations, as long as they are between 200 V and 270 V.
It also includes a thermal protection system that prevents the ballast from burning out in the event of an overvoltage and a lamp end-of-life detector.
The LEC Sun System 315 W team reflector
It is made from two types of highly reflective German aluminium. The mirror-gloss parts give 98% reflection and the hammered aluminum corners give 95%, achieving a uniform distribution of light on the growing area.
The bulb is housed inside the reflector in a vertical position and it is important that it is perpendicular to the ground, therefore, the reflector has a built-in spirit level that will help you to correctly install your LEC lighting kit.
The position of the bulb in this model is vertical, so it is important that it is always perpendicular to the ground. For this task, the Sunsystem LEC reflector incorporates a double bubble level.
The reflector does not have glass for 2 reasons:
- The heat generated by the bulb is half that generated by a 600W Sodium HPS bulb.
- The glass, unless it is special, eliminates a large amount of UV rays (which are so appreciated by us to increase the resin).
With all this we can say that the LEC 315w Sun System lighting kit is equivalent to a 600 W Sodium HPS lighting kit and improves it by far.
