The Mantis is a 25 W LED luminaire with Ultra Violet UV light with different spectra. 365 + 405nm.
With this plate we cover 1 m² and its recommended use is in the Last 3 weeks of the flowering stage between 3 and 4 hours a day.
According to tests carried out by different laboratories, the use of UV light in the crop increases terpenes by 50%.
In addition, non-existent terpenes appear in crops without UV, providing a higher concentration of THC, aromas and flavors.
With the use of this UV spectrum we get the plants to grow more compact and stronger, being of special interest in Sativa varieties since we get plants of smaller stature and with more resistant stems.
What are the advantages of applying UV light to plants?
- UV light prevents the proliferation of insects
It increases the production of glycosides, and for human consumption it greatly improves the taste and smell, but for some attempts it is toxic, so it prevents some pests.
- UV light and “sunscreen” for plants
This type of lighting produces two sunscreens: the physical one, an increase in trichomes that protect the plant, and the chemical one, the production of chemicals that protect the plant from radiation is increased.
- UV light reduces fungal growth
UV light alters the DNA of living things, and changes the DNA of fungi, damaging them so much that they are unable to reproduce and spread.
